Emlyn’s Commentary…

I think what she says pretty much sums up the Husker win, the Rams inability to win, the federal healthcare bill and Jimmie Johnson’s day…

2 months old!

Daddys Girl!!

Daddy's Girl!!

Our little girl is 2 months old! It’s hard to believe that 9 weeks ago Emlyn Adair joined our family and changed our lives forever! Today we had our 2 month check-up and she received a “magnificant” diagnosis from Dr. Gin! She now weighs 11lbs, 1oz and is 22 1/2 inches long. So I guess we owe an update for the last couple of weeks….Emlyn was baptized on August 30 at Christ Lutheran Church in Highlands Ranch. We had family from all over come into town for the big event and had a wonderful time with everyone. The following weekend Chad, Emlyn and I went home to the ranch for a week of hunting. We really saw Emlyn start to make a lot of changes during that week – she became a lot more vocal and started to share her smiles a bit more. This of course was after she got over having a tummy ache that kept her up the first night. The next couple of nights were rough too, but once Chad and I figured out that she didn’t like sleeping in her port-a-crib she started sleeping much better. Once we got home she continued sleeping well and actually goes 6, sometimes 7 whole hours in a row! Of course, I have not quite managed to get that much sleep because I keep waking up to go check on her. But I’m getting better! And Emlyn just keeps sleeping through the night! She tends to cluster-feed (eat continously) for a couple hours in the evening but typically goes to sleep for the night between 9 and 10. Yippee!!! This week we head home to Iowa for the annual cattle sale. We will have our first airplane ride on Thursday. Wish us luck!!!!
